
Dr. Canty, a native of California, is honored to serve the diverse and vibrant communities of the state. After graduating from Dartmouth College with dual degrees in Asian/Middle Eastern Studies and Biology, he obtained both his medical and public health degrees from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. During his tenure there, he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honors Society. Subsequently, he completed his pediatrics residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon, followed by a fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at Scripps Clinic in San Diego.
Although Dr. Canty is a pediatrician by profession, he possesses extensive experience in treating both pediatric and adult patients with a wide spectrum of common and complex allergic and immunologic disorders. He is passionate about all aspects of allergy care and is dedicated to assisting patients in achieving optimal health despite their allergic and immunologic conditions. Dr. Canty has a particular clinical interest in nasal polyps, aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease, food allergies, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, and chronic hives. Notably, he has substantial clinical experience with oral immunotherapy for food allergies in infants. He takes great pleasure in providing comprehensive care to the entire family in a human-centered and evidence-based manner.
Outside of his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Canty enjoys spending time with friends, baking, exploring new neighborhoods and dining establishments in San Diego, traveling, and cuddling with his dog, Milo, at the end of each day. He is deeply committed to promoting health and wellness and assisting others in attaining peace, joy, and overall well-being.
Currently, Dr. Canty welcomes new pediatric and adult patients to his practice.
