Before making major changes because of suspected allergy, consider a clinical evaluation. An allergist can review symptom patterns and decide whether targeted testing is useful, while explaining what a result can and cannot establish.
At-home food sensitivity results should not be used alone to diagnose a food allergy or remove foods from the diet. An allergist can interpret the clinical history, select targeted testing, and discuss avoidance, emergency readiness, sinus symptoms, or possible immune concerns without promising a particular outcome.
Persistent allergy, sinus, or food-related concerns require a focused history and, when appropriate, targeted testing. A clinician interprets findings in context and discusses reasonable next steps without promising a particular result.
Patients with diagnosed food allergy should follow an avoidance and emergency plan and keep prescribed epinephrine accessible. Anaphylaxis is an emergency; use epinephrine as directed and call 911. Other sinus or allergy concerns require evaluation before treatment is selected.

Use Your Own Exposure History
Why is targeted allergy testing more useful than a broad panel?
A positive allergy test can show sensitization, but it does not automatically prove that an exposure causes symptoms. The clinician first identifies the foods, medicines, indoor or outdoor exposures, seasons, and activities that match the history, then selects tests that can clarify those specific possibilities. This approach reduces confusing results and keeps the care plan tied to real-life symptoms.
For a visit at the East Cactus Road office, note where symptoms occur and how they change across home, work, school, travel, exercise, and seasons. Bring prior results so the team does not repeat testing without a reason. Ask the office whether the planned visit requires medicine instructions, a separate testing date, or post-test observation.
