This partnership brings together two practices that share the same commitment to exceptional, patient-centered allergy and immunology care. Patients can continue receiving personalized care while gaining access to additional providers, convenient locations, and innovative treatment options through Orso Health, our clinical research arm.

Comprehensive Allergy & Immunology Services
For now, North Scottsdale offers the same services as the Scottsdale clinic except oral immunotherapy (OIT). OIT is not offered at this location. Call the office to confirm the appropriate appointment type and current availability.
Evaluation for recurrent infections and immune-system concerns, with an individualized plan based on the patient’s history and clinical findings.

Allergist & Immunologist
Dr. Patel earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and his medical degree from the University of Pikeville-KYCOM. He completed Internal Medicine residency and Chief Residency at the University of Louisville, followed by Allergy & Immunology fellowship training at the University of Arizona.
He provides allergy and immunology care for children and adults, with experience in severe asthma, food allergies, allergy immunotherapy, and complex allergic conditions. Outside medicine, he enjoys travel, new cuisines, live sports, and time with family.

Allergist & Immunologist
Dr. Hill is an Arizona native and board-certified allergist and clinical immunologist. She graduated with honors from Arizona State University, earned her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, completed Internal Medicine residency and Chief Residency at Banner University Medical Center, and completed Allergy & Immunology fellowship training at National Jewish Health.
She cares for children and adults, with experience in severe asthma, food allergies, allergic skin conditions, eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases, and oral immunotherapy. Outside medicine, she enjoys family, friends, travel, concerts, and outdoor activities.

Nurse Practitioner
Maddie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University and began her career in the pediatric emergency department at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago. She later became a Certified School Nurse before earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice from DePaul University and becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She cares for patients of all ages and has experience in allergy, asthma, immunology, and oral and sublingual immunotherapy. Outside work, she enjoys exploring Arizona with her husband, son, and two rescue dogs through hiking, camping, and kayaking.

Patient Questions
Dr. Julie Wendt will continue caring for patients on a limited schedule while Dr. Sanjay “Jay” Patel, Dr. Jennifer Hill, and Nurse Practitioner Maddie Starr transition time from the Paradise Valley office to North Scottsdale. If your care will transition to a new provider, the team will communicate with you and work to maintain continuity of care.
No. Your medical records will continue to be maintained securely. If you prefer to transfer records to another provider, request a copy or authorize a transfer by September 1, 2026 by calling (480) 500-1902. After that date, Modena Allergy + Asthma will continue maintaining the records in accordance with applicable requirements. Requests will be processed within 30 days, with fees limited to reasonable preparation and delivery costs.
We accept most major insurances, please contact us if you have any questions about your insurance coverage.
Patients receiving immunotherapy can continue using their current vial. When a vial expires or is depleted, a new formulation will be prepared. For safety, the transition may require more frequent visits while the dose is built back up. Follow the schedule provided by the care team.
