Mold spores occur outdoors and indoors, and levels change with weather, vegetation, moisture, and ventilation. A positive allergy test shows sensitization but cannot identify the exact room, species, or amount responsible for symptoms.
Indoor moisture deserves correction regardless of allergy status because damp materials support growth and may worsen air quality. The priority is finding and repairing leaks, controlling humidity, drying wet materials, and using appropriate remediation for the size and location of the problem. Repeated air sampling rarely substitutes for fixing visible moisture.

Can an allergy test tell which room contains mold?
